Governor Wolf has announced the release of two RACP grants for Monroe County which will be administered by the Monroe County Industrial Development Authority (MCIDA), sister organization to PMEDC.
The Smithfield Gateway project, being developed by DEPG Associates, was granted $1.5 million which will be used to fund road improvements associated with the project.
The second announcement was for $500,000 toward a parking facility for Downtown Stroudsburg at an undetermined location. The project will need to secure additional funding before it commences. A plan will be determined in the near future.
“We certainly appreciate the ongoing support from the Governor, our legislators and the RACP program, commented Chuck Leonard, MCIDAExecutive Director. We have managed many RACP projects and look forward to working with the Smithfield Gateway developer and a partner to help solve the Downtown Stroudsburg parking issue.”
The RACP grants must be matched at a minimum dollar for dollar, are strictly a reimbursement program and must comply with the detailed RACPguidelines.
