The Commonwealth Financing Authority approved 16 new Local Share Account for Monroe County grants at their meeting on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, 8 of which were submitted by the Monroe County Industrial Development Authority, sister organization to PMEDC.
The MCIDA approved projects total $1,615,122 and the total amount approved was $3,700,000. Projects are divided into three categories: Economic Development, Community Improvement and Public Interest.

“The Local Share Account funds are one of the few grant programs we have and it is not tax-payer funded in anyway. It was legislated when gaming was approved and is set aside from the revenues at Mount Airy Casino Resort,” stated Chuck Leonard, MCIDA/PMEDC Executive Director.
