Served by both PPL Electric Utilities Corporation and Met Ed, A First Energy Company , Monroe County has readily available electric energy for commercial and industrial facilities of any size. A recent comparison of electric utilities shows that the cost of electricity is lower in Monroe County than most nearby areas of Pennsylvania and nearby states.
According to a recent study of Monroe County’s telecommunications infrastructure performed by Affinity Group, the Pocono area is positioned to be a “regional technology and telecommunications leader.” The study revealed that Monroe County has a very good telecommunications infrastructure providing an advantage for employers in the area and making the Poconos a viable choice for high-tech employees. Three natural gas pipelines serve Monroe County; an 82-mile pipeline owned by Williams; a 41-mile pipeline owned by Columbia Gas Transmission and a third pipeline owned by Penn Fuel Gas, Inc. Penn Fuel Gas can be reached at 800-235-2224. Natural gas is available in some of our business park sites.
Public water and sewage treatment services are available in several areas of the county. There are also a number of privately-owned sewage and water plants located throughout the county. The Pocono Mountains Corporate Center East, West and South are equipped with water and sewage services.
