The Surface Transportation Board’s Railroad-Shipper Transportation Advisory Council (RSTAC) elected Mr. Larry Malski as their Chairman at a recent meeting in Washington, DC.
Mr. Malski is the President of the PA Northeast Regional Railroad Authority located in Scranton and representing Lackawanna and Monroe Counties.
Other officers elected were: Vice Chairman, Wayne Hurst of the National Wheat Foundation and Secretary-Treasurer, Nathan Asplund of the Florida East Coast Railway.
“We are very proud to have Larry serving in this capacity, ” commented Bob Hay, PNRRA Board Member. “This speaks well for him and for our authority.”
The Railroad-Shipper Transportation Advisory Council (RSTAC) was established pursuant to Public Law 104-88, 109 Stat.803. Its 15 appointed members consist of senior officials representing large and small shippers and large and small railroads. In addition, the Secretary of the US Department of Transportation and the five Board Members serve as ex officio members.
The RSTAC provides advice on regulatory, policy and legislative matters, as appropriate, to the STB Chairman, the Secretary of Transportation, the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation and the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.
